The scholarship committee processes, selects and recommends the awarding of scholarships to the board of directors of the Foundation. These scholarships are available to registered psychiatric nurses in Canada studying at a masters or doctoral level, and to students enrolled in a baccalaurete psychiatric nursing education program in a Canadian Province. Each of these seven scholarships is named after a renowned registered psychiatric nursing leader, from the earliest days of the profession in Manitoba to recent National leaders. These scholarships are possible through the generosity of many donors and the sound investments of the board of directors. The sustainability of these scholarships will only be possible through continued donations.
The awarding of these scholarships is based on the excellence of the academic work of the applicant and not on financial necessity. The RPNF is concerned with academic excellence in both undergraduate studies in an approved psychiatric nursing education program, and with psychiatric nursing education at the masters and doctoral levels.
